The Senior Mechanic performs maintenance inspections, installations, troubleshooting and repairs, both scheduled and unscheduled, to equipment, machinery, piping, and components in the Combined Heat & Power (CHP) plant. Assists in scheduling/planning of the aforementioned tasks.

  1. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and components as scheduled and performs mechanical installations, repairs, and replacements as needed.
    • Completes on-time delivery of maintenance services while ensuring compliance with company standards for cost control, quality, safety, efficiency, and equipment availability/reliability are achieved.
    • Must be able to direct and manage others, manage inventory, and identify when necessary to engage contractors.
    • Must be able to coordinate with operations staff to ensure continuity of service while performing maintenance.
  1. Maintains safe working conditions; identifies and corrects unsafe conditions
  2. Assists with compliance activities such as emissions testing & reporting
  3. Ability to be on-call and respond to emergency situations as necessary




  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Related experience in production facilities; to include chilled water, high pressure steam, and power generation
  • Knowledgeable in use of computer software (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets)
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to define problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and client/customers
