Assure PECO- ComEd adheres to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and ReliabilityFirst Corporation (RFC) compliance requirements. #CD# Prepare reviews and reports of compliance. #CD# Assure that PECO- ComEd activities are performed in compliance with PECO/ComEd procedures, standards and requirements. #CD# Identifies and provides recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives by developing and implementing internal assessments. Participate and support Exelon Corporation compliance program.

Note: This position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage for storms and other energy delivery emergencies.



- Evaluate, determine, and report PECO/COMED compliance to Exelon/ComEd procedures, standards and requirements. #CD# Recommend enhancements to current practices and procedures to drive continuous improvement. #CD# #CD# 20

- Responsible for evaluation, tracking and reporting of PECO/COMED compliance with NERC and RFC Standards#CD# 20

- Responsible for performing self assessments of PECO/COMED compliance to procedures, policies and actions taken as result of RCI, ACE or Condition Report corrective actions#CD# 10

- Create mitigation plans based on Self Reports and monitor the status of mitigating steps through Action Tracking and Quarterly Update on each Mitigation Plan with ReliabilityFirst Corporation#CD# 5

- Perform an annual self assessment for each standard PECO/COMED has to comply with based on our registration with ReliabilityFirst Corporation. This will involve setting up kick off and challenge meetings with the appropriate subject matter experts, SMEs, their Key Managers and assimilating all the information with a signoff and all documents posted to the artifact storage location#CD# 15

- Ensure necessary work activities for NERC Compliance are initiated in the Work Management system, #CD# executed using procedures and tracked in sytems with documented completion evidence. #CD# 10

- Provide analysis and support to leadership for the NERC Compliance Program including ongoing reporting of performance improvements, organizational initiatives and compliance related communications. #CD# 10

- Lead/participate in compliance audits. #CD# Plan, prepare and execute audit tasks and support audit teams. #CD# 5

- Represent PECO/COMED on NERC and RFC committees#CD# to facilitate benchmarking and continuous improvement. #CD# 5



- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field and- 5-8 years experience working in any combination of electric utility transmission, operations, regulatory, legal or financial disciplines. OR in lieu of a bachelors degree, a minimum of 9-12 years of relevant business experience.

- Ability to analyze, interpret, and determine compliance requirements associated with NERC and Regional Standards

- Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches

- Wowledge and use of computer systems and applications w/ Word/Access/Excel/PowerPoint/Passport/Cascade

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Excellent analytical skills.

- Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

- Knowledge and experience with regulations, guides standards, codes, methods, practices, and engineering principles


- The Principal Compliance Specialist evaluates and determines compliance for PECO/COMED activities, will recommend corrective actions to address inadequacies that are discovered during assessments, including recommendations that are administrative or functional in nature. ; Will typically involve acting in a consulting or advisory capacity and gather commitments of other management personnel in the organization.

- The Principal Compliance Specialist acts as liaison to NERC and the Reliability Regions for compliance issues, tracks NERC and Reliability Region activities and consults/advises key Exelon personnel in order to develop strategic direction for Energy Delivery compliance to NERC and Reliability Region standards.

- The Principal Compliance Specialist generally operates with wide latitude on action and decision-making.
