The PHI Corporate Relations department is responsible for the corporate social responsibility activities of Pepco Holdings, Inc. which includes Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco. The department manages grants, sponsorships, employee volunteerism and other employee engagement efforts. The Sr. Corporate Citizenship Specialist role will report to the Sr. Manager, Corporate Relations.
We are looking for a creative, passionate, and detail-focused individual to join PHI’s corporate relations team to coordinate the company’s in-kind assets, primarily in the Pepco region, including managing the volunteer employee engagement programs with nonprofit and other community-based organizations as well as general administration of the Pepco Edison Place Gallery. This individual will have the following primary responsibilities: coordination of PHI’s signature employee volunteer programs (National Volunteer Month, Pepco Volunteer Council, MLK Day of Service, Annual Volunteer Fair), coordination of the company’s gallery space and focused partnerships (RFP process, exhibition calendar, special event calendar, operating hours, administrative tasks including in-kind tracking and contract management, etc.) and coordination of Powering Communities platform  (serve as the Pepco contact with nonprofit organizations and employees, tracking PHI-wide goals and outcomes, pulling monthly reports), all of which involve extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders. 
This role is both strategic and tactical, requiring the ability to think innovatively when managing multiple projects and assignments while paying close attention to the details. The position requires the candidate to lead large-scale and on-going volunteer events and encourage employee engagement in many Pepco activities through outreach and communication. The position also requires the candidate to manage multiple deliverables on different timelines.
The individual will also support PHI executives in volunteer engagement opportunities and events as needed, and coordinate attendance at key community events. The position includes working with external affairs colleagues across the company, coordinating efforts with communications, social media and other key stakeholders to let others know of our work in the community and availability of our in-kind resources.
This role includes working evenings and weekends for gallery events and volunteer activities.
1. Coordinate PHI’s employee volunteer program, including identifying and managing details for events, recruiting volunteers through CyberGrant, report on outcomes and deliverables related to volunteer programs and events.  

2. Coordinate annual exhibitions calendar and facilitate all in-kind rentals of gallery space. 

3. Coordinate with communications to promote activities for internal and stakeholder audiences. Assist with articles, website content, videos and other outreach tools in partnership with communications, social media and governmental affairs teams. 

4. Speak publicly/give presentations to internal departments and external stakeholders to promote gallery space and volunteer platform and events, community-focused programs and employee philanthropy programs like Employee Giving Campaign, Matching Gifts.  

5. Manage program costs related to volunteer community events and gallery space. 

6. Reply to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner (i.e. two business days) 



Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing or related discipline and five to eight years related business experience in private sector or nonprofit community affairs, public relations or related area, OR in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of nine to twelve years of relevant experience
Passion for volunteering and ability to inspire other employees to make a positive difference in the community
Standard project management skills 
Experience working with senior executives
Strong relationship-building skills
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment  
Proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrated experience identifying and implementing technology to make processes more efficient
Commitment to listening to and seeking out feedback to improve the programs and events
Intellectual curiosity, particularly in regard to PHI’s business and the energy industry overall
Proactive, positive approach to attending team events, often on weekends and evenings
Experience seeking constructive feedback to improve programs and events
Continuing education/certification/training in volunteer employee engagement, education in STEM fields or an area relevant to the job
Comfortability speaking in front of large groups   
Must be able to work nights and weekends 
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing or Liberal Arts
Business experience in corporate relations, communications or public affairs
Nonprofit work experience and understanding of the nonprofit sector
