PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

 

You will own the Release Management Lifecycle in support of EU IT Customer’s Digital Team which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades.

Plan and manage resources, finances, scope and services within a functional area of Information Technology to deliver business results. Provide IT products, services and solutions on time, within budget and with the required functionality. Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with clients. Participate in developing and implementing strategy/policy. Manage large-scale projects of high complexity, size and change management risk.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Build the IT Release Calendar by working closely with the IT release managers from different portfolios across IT and centralizing view of all releases.
  • Lead efforts of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built in.
  • Drive team to assist managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured. 
  • Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio 
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality 
  • Manage release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates 
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes 
 
  • Establish, maintain and enhance relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations 
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews 
  • Ensure Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans are developed
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists. 
  • Lead and manage IT staff and resources in accordance with IT Business Plan. For projects: Plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT project management standards. For operations/application maintenance: Plan and manage to defined service level agreements at agreed upon budgets.    
  • Lead and manage IT projects and associated system integrators to deliver projects of medium to high complexity.          
  • Operate utilizing standard processes as defined within the Management Model. Oversee process improvement efforts and ensure adoption of standard processes and procedures that deliver sustainable top quartile cost and performance levels.      
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with business and IT partners. Communicate status to key stakeholders on a regular basis.  
  • Maintain current business knowledge/acumen, including application of technology solutions to deliver business results.
  • Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel. Participate in career development and succession planning processes. Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a learning organization. Provide input on development and retention processes for IT employees.
  • Prepare and manage budget for area of responsibility. 

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

 Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 8 to 10 years experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis, development or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Appropriate technical skills (previous experience with Agile planning tools such as Jira and/or Azure DevOps)
  • Strong knowledge of business practices and processes in EU, C&I & EWS
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management.
  • Experience leading and managing technical personnel.
  • Strong judgment and excellent analytical ability.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management and with vendors.
  • Experience managing budgets for functional area of responsibility.

  • Graduate Degree
  • Project Management certification

  • Utilize understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirements and help set direction.
  • Determine and helps others learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio and related sciences and disciplines.
  • Make judicious decisions in familiar and new situations and contributes to strategic decisions.
  • Represent business client’s perspective with IT team
  • Dimensions: Span of control (generally 10), level of budget control, technical/business complexity, risk, criticality of assignment to business
  • Budget Management specific to area of accountability.
  • Operate independently with little or no supervision.
