Engage in job duties outlined below, to reduce risk exposure in areas of cyber and physical security; and to promote our mission of safeguarding the people, property, reputation and shareholder value of the corporation.  This position will be based out of the Oakbrook office:



  • Act on a team of corporate security investigative personnel dedicated to protecting Company personnel and physical/cyber assets while ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Plan and conduct investigations of alleged or suspected violations of laws, NRC or regulatory issues, Code of Business Conduct and corporate policies concerning criminal matters, fraud, cyber, insider threat, intellectual property, or other security issues
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on investigative techniques for all levels within the organization
  • Perform detailed site vulnerability assessments and personnel threat assessments (in partnership with business unit, HR and legal representatives)
  • Participate in the investigation of extremely sensitive, potentially high profile, complex, and sophisticated criminal or National security activities, which may have an impact on health, safety, fiscal, ethical, and operational integrity 
  • Participate in cyber related investigations in order to ensure documented evidence is presented to legal and HR in a concise easy to understand manner.  The types of cases in which a cyber skillset is beneficial range from embezzlement, identity theft, insider threat, fraud, hacker activity to a host of security breaches. Additionally, be capable of engaging with cyber forensic team members in order to identify and evaluate forensic data and other evidence to further the investigative efforts of both groups.
  • Oversee and participate in complex financial crimes investigations, and exhibit the capability to conduct highly technical investigations in a fluid and fast paced environment.
  • Provide controls and risk mitigation recommendations to management
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive, and cohesive investigative reports based upon established procedures
  • Provide support for executive security, including (but not limited to) during transportation and meetings
  • Engage regulators and councils on critical infrastructure concerns
  • Liaise with Legal, HR, and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Conduct training iterations related to Workplace Violence Prevention, Street Awareness, financial crime and other security-related issues
  • Establish and maintain federal, state, county and local law enforcement contacts and relationships.
  • Review and analyze background investigations for employees regarding adverse derogatory information received during the background process.



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to obtain Concealed Carry Permits for applicable states, as necessary
  • Prior investigative experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of PC/desktop workstation applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to travel domestically/internationally with little or no notice
  • 24/7 availability
  • Established liaison network within law enforcement
  • Advanced Degree
  • 10 years of law enforcement experience with a medium to large agency or the equivalent combination of law enforcement/private investigative experience
  • Ability to obtain Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret or top-secret clearance
  • Certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and/or other related certifications
  • Experience in conducting vulnerability assessment of physical facilities     
  • Experience in business continuity and crisis management
  • Prior corporate security experience
  • Conduct investigations, with an emphasis on independent and impartial fact finding, to support or refute allegations, and explore any actions which are perceived to be in violation of the Company’s Code of Business Conduct.
  • Interact with ethics, law enforcement, legal, human resources, and Business Unit leaders during the investigative process
  • Provide leadership and advise management on risk mitigation recommendations, identifying internal controls weaknesses as part of vulnerability assessment activities to strengthen the controls environment
