PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION


- Partner with IT and business teams to use business, financial and technical expertise to determine financial needs of short-term and long-term information technology investment strategies, plans and goals to support business strategies. 


- Assist the IT Planner to oversee the entire portfolio of IT investments and initiatives within the IT Digital Grid organization. 


- Provide cost management services through annual budgeting, regular financial variance analysis and reporting, and periodic ad-hoc assignments.


- Complete quantitative analyses to define financial situations and scenarios to identify financial opportunities and mitigate financial risks.


- Prepare internal financial reports for IT and business leadership.  Support operational KPI tracking through the collection, analysis, and formatting of data.


- Establish relationships with leadership, management, and our business partners.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES


- Provide support including but not limited to: financial and business planning, financial performance analysis and reporting, headcount tracking and other operational reporting needs for various programs, projects, and initiatives throughout the Digital Grid Portfolio.  


- Provide financial oversight to ensure accuracy, availability, and timeliness of information. Ensure budget owners are trained in financial processes and adhere to all accounting policies.  


- Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners and other stakeholders.  May include initiation and executing of small projects to deliver solutions to meet stakeholder needs.


- Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function.


- Contribute to a positive team environment by proactively assisting and training less experienced personnel and proactively supporting business partners.




Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS



Minimum:


- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline and 5 years relevant experience.


- Strong knowledge of business practices and processes related to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.


- Advanced technical skills include, but not limited to, Excel, Financial reporting tools (i.e. Hyperion), Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.


- Strong problem solving and analysis ability.


- Skilled in tracking, trending, and performing data analysis on large volumes of data.


- IT Financial Planning and Budgeting skills, with experience providing big picture oversight over multiple projects.


- Strong organizational and time management skills.


- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and function in ambiguous situations.


- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).


- Ability to work with remote project teams.



Preferred:


- Advanced degree in a related discipline.


- ServiceNow and  HP Project Portfolio Management (PPM) experience


- Power BI, OBIEE, Hyperion and other reporting tools experience.


- IT Project portfolio management experience.
