PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear core design. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provides in-depth technical expertise in the design, development, and generation of software tools that aid in the support of nuclear engineering management process.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve process and automation problems.
  • Provides initial or complete task management of nuclear engineering issues.
  • Perform nuclear engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision applying general engineering principles
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
  • Recommends new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operation, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.

POSITION SCOPE
  • Performs specialty skills and performs advanced tasks independently with minimal supervisory review.
  • Performs independently and actively imparts knowledge to others.
  • Assist Engineering Associates and Analysts on technical/program issues
  • Must be able to manage and implement technical programs and support development of engineering documents without supervision

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Degree Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or non-engineering Technical bachelor’s and 5 years’ experience; OR
  • Assoc Degree and min 8- years’ experience (3 of the 8 years must be at the exempt level); OR
  • High School Diploma and min 10-years’ experience (5 of the 10yrs must be at the exempt level).
  • 4 or more years’ solid performance of Individual Contributor competencies, with demonstration of FLS competencies
  • Must have excellent computer skills, communication skills (both written and oral) and experience in database administration.
  • Individuals who obtain this classification have demonstrated consistently good performance and the necessary technical skills required to take on new assignments with greater responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Computer science experience
