Assure Exelon adheres to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and ReliabilityFirst Corporation (RFC) compliance requirements.  Prepare reviews and reports of compliance. Assure that compliance activities are performed in accordance with established procedures, standards and requirements. Identifies and provides recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives by developing and implementing internal assessments. Participate and support Exelon Corporation compliance program.

This position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage for storms and other energy delivery emergencies.


- Provide oversight on major outage event reporting, ad hoc Commission reporting and Utility annual compliance reporting. 

- Manage the processes related to SOS and other riders in the DC region.  

- Oversee the SOS bidding process in MD and DC.


- Evaluate, determine, and report NERC and RFC compliance to established procedures, standards and requirements. Recommend enhancements to current practices and procedures to drive continuous improvement.  Identify opportunities for improvement and benchmarking.

- Responsible for performing self assessments of compliance to procedures, policies and actions taken as result of RCI, ACE or Condition Report corrective actions

- Confer, recommend and prepare Exelon Corporation's responses to NERC SAR's and Policies posted for comment. 

- Manage the NERC compliance programs and provide recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities


- The Compliance Manager evaluates and determines compliance for NERC / RFC compliance activities, will recommend corrective actions to address inadequacies that are discovered during assessments, including recommendations that are administrative or functional in nature. ; Will typically involve acting in a consulting or advisory capacity and gather commitments of other management personnel in the organization. 

- The Compliance Manager acts as liaison to NERC and the Reliability Regions for compliance issues, tracks NERC and Reliability Region activities and consults/advises key Exelon personnel in order to develop strategic direction for Energy Delivery compliance to NERC and Reliability Region standards. 

- The Compliance Manager generally operates with wide latitude on action and decision-making. 




- Required: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or related field and 8-10 years of relevant transmission operations experience OR in lieu of a bachelors degree, a minimum of 12-14 years of relevant business experience

- Typically possesses twelve years or more of experience in specific areas of bulk electric system operations and recognized industry expert

- Ability to analyze, interpret, and determine compliance requirements associated with NERC and Regional Standards

- Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches

- Advanced knowledge and use of computer systems and applications w/ Word/Access/Excel/PowerPoint/PI-historian

- Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

- Excellent analytical skills. 


- Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

- NERC or PJM Certification

- Advanced knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles

- Participant on policy/rulemaking (NERC or RFC) committees based on new or existing NERC or RFC initiatives, Standards or policies.
