PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for providing leadership to and supervising a unit that is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the Company's systems of record for electric and/or gas distribution infrastructure assets to meet Company and regulatory requirements while also meeting internal and external customer expectations. This position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Provide leadership for a Unit of up to 25 employees, both represented and non-represented depending on the operating Company, with responsibility for timely and accurate maintenance of electric and/or gas distribution infrastructure systems of record and electrical connectivity to meet Company and regulatory requirements while also meeting internal and external customer expectations. Manage organization and individual performance. (30%)
  • Manage the business relationships with upstream work suppliers and downstream customers to ensure expectations are appropriately established and are supported by performance data; identify and implement changes in work processes that foster innovation and improvements. (20%)
  • Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization. Provide employees training and opportunities for growth and development. Assure timely recognition of positive employee performance/behaviors and provide feedback and coaching consistent with Company and collective bargaining agreement requirements. (20%)
  • Participate on planning teams, special project teams and/or continuous improvement initiatives representing the Department (Company and cross Company) to help ensure their success. Contributes to the development of resource planning estimates and budget/long range plan preparation. (20%)
  • Demonstrate safety leadership through effective employee communications, use of the programs established to improve the safety culture and performance in the organization (safety observations, safety councils, condition report and corrective action management, etc.) and lead by example. (10%)

JOB SCOPE
  • Provide leadership for a Unit of up to 25 employees, both represented and non-represented, depending on the operating Company.
  • Accountable for maintaining the operating Company's electric and/or gas distribution systems of record and electrical connectivity model.
  • Manage appropriate document control procedures per Exelon Utilities requirements.
  • Collaborate with other key departments to meet business goals and objectives in areas of service restoration and reliability, material condition, and system performance.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree plus 4 years work experience, preferably associated with gas and/or electric distribution, transmission, substation construction, design, or maintenance activities; or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through supervisory, project leader, or other opportunity, or receive an acceptable rating on Supervisory Assessment.
  • Experience in leading diverse workgroups and associates including represented and non-represented employees.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of energy delivery processes and technical standards (transmission, distribution, gas as appropriate).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mapping and work management systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience involving familiarity with gas and/or electric utility infrastructure components and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and utilize technical standards to complete work.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
