We're powering a cleaner, brighter future.Assists in the initiation, research, development, and approval of construction, operating, and maintenance, work practices, tools, and equipment to support various business unit functional areas. The Methods Specialist works collaboratively and proactively with line personnel, management, external vendors, other utilities training staffs to initiate, research, design, evaluate, and develop work processes and tools that enhances overall safety, increases productivity, and reduce costs under the supervision of the respective Sr. Methods Specialist. The Methods Specialist works under the general supervision of the Methods Lead and spends significant time interfacing directly with his/her customers throughout the system and respective Sr. Methods Specialist. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storm/s or other energy delivery emergencies.
The Methods Specialist utilizes project management skills daily as he/she interfaces with various departments and levels of employees while executing multiple tasks targeted towards improving and aligning work practices, procedures, tools, and equipment that focus on driving world-class safety and productivity. The Methods Specialist must demonstrate credible subject matter expertise, and is linked into RCI/RCA, ACE, Safety Meetings, Business Plans, Conferences, and other investigations to assist the business. In addition, the Methods Specialist takes an assisting role in initiating, evaluating, and testing new tools/equipment/work practices that will generate a positive Return on Investment for the company, increase the safety of the employees and improve productivity in the work force. The Methods Specialist must gain a comprehensive understanding of the Safety Rule Book and Work Practices so they can incorporate that knowledge with the daily routine and emergent requests for information, clarification, and interpretations they receive. In addition, the Methods Specialist must demonstrate the ability to understand and proficiently operate a wide range of equipment and tools in use by their customers. Finally, the Methods Specialist is required to respond to system needs on a 24 hour a day basis to meet the needs of the\ business.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, in lieu of degree 4 years of relevant Field Experience. 2-5 years relevant Field Experience in the areas of utility operations, construction and maintenance for primary (4kV and above) electric and/or natural gas systems General knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services
