PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Performs weekly workload scheduling of Electricians, Machinists and Plant Mechanic personnel for review and tracking by Supervisor and Workload Management. Available 24/7 for emergent issues that may require onsite support or scheduling of craft personnel to support Gas Operations. Attends and participates in project meetings by project managers and engineers. Reviews projects schedule and supports scheduling the proper craft personnel needed to support the project and comply with BGE's Safe Work Practices and Procedures. Handles day to day craft scheduling issues. Responsible for inputting and managing inputted Preventative and Corrective Maintenance work orders in asset management system for accuracy. Reviews preventative and corrective maintenance work order notes of the craft personnel. Verifies work orders are completed before or by need date. Reports out weekly work plan on gas operations call weekly. Schedules and manages specialty contractors. Verifies quality of contractor work by onsite visits. Review work complies with applicable regulations and BGE Safe Work Practices such as but not limited to: NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), CFR 192, NFPA 58, 59 and 59A. Maintains and in-depth knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electric Code), CFR 192, NFPA 58, 59 and 59A. Oversees the troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical equipment ranging from 24 volt dc to 13kv high voltage applications. Contacts supervision and employees of other departments to coordinate work with high voltage equipment and routine inspections. Deals with customers and the public to improve services while maintaining a courteous relationship. Assist with the procurement of vendor support and blanket contract initiation for vendor support. Procure material for unit's craft groups. Reviews craft group personnel Learning Management System for compliance with required training. Schedules required training for craft group personnel along with Supervisor. Work with Transportation Department with scheduling maintenance on vehicles within the unit. Maintains in depth knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between Local 410 and Baltimore Gas and Electric. Complies with CBA when managing work scheduling of craft personnel. Compiles vacation schedule for the year for review with Supervisor and compliance with CBA. Tracks call outs and overtime for review by supervisor and compliance with CBA. Assist engineering on projects such as: print review, bid process, construction oversight as well as problem solving when issues occur. Provide estimates to engineering and project unit on manpower and material cost. Write specific lock out tag out procedures for projects and jobs throughout the plants and gate stations. Provides supervisor feedback on yearly review of job performance of craft personnel. Supports supervisor in interview process and selection of craft candidates. Supports craft personnel with help on administrative tasks such as expense reports and obtaining PPE. Coaches and mentors craft personnel on job performance with supervisor. Works with supervisor to plan and explore training opportunities with vendors for craft personnel. Manages equipment manuals and information. Assist supervisor in updating or adding preventative maintenance work standards for new and existing equipment. Assists with development of new testing techniques as well as identifying new testing equipment. Accompany engineering on factory acceptance testing. Assist with site acceptance testing.

JOB SCOPE

The maintenance work leader is part of the Gas Plant and Operations team at BGE. The maintenance work leader has impact on maintaining and restoring gas distribution, gas gate station, and gas plant equipment to safely and reliably provide natural gas to BGE's costumers. The maintenance work leader is accountable for abiding by all safety and regulatory requirements imposed by the company, state, and federal entities. The maintenance work leader must abide by BGE's contractual agreements with the Union. The maintenance work leader is accountable for keeping the companies best financial interest in mind when dealing with vendors/material purchases.

·         A strong background in Machining and Mechanical knowledge with an effective knowledge of electrical can be considered in lieu of the Strong Electrical knowledge and background requirement.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7 years of experience in maintenance or design of industrial electrical/electronic equipment and distribution and control systems. 2 years of experience/familiarity with maintenance of industrial equipment (MOVs, Pumps, Compressors) 1 year experience/familiarity with the common application of LOTO (Lock out tag out procedures) Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications CDL license or the ability to obtain CDL license in a year.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company driving standards.
  • Education/Experience: Completion of electrical apprenticeship and holds a Journeyman's License with Maryland Department of Labor or can obtain one in a year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with Gas Distribution, Gas Gate Stations, and Gas Plants (Preferred not required) Master Electricians License (Preferred not required) Familiarity with Electric Distribution and Substation. (Preferred not required) Crane and Rigging Experience (Preferred but not required) Bucket Truck Experience (Preferred but not required) Experience managing in a Union Environment (Preferred not required)
