PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

T&S Regional Projects Engineering is a unit consisting of lead engineering and design personnel providing Project Engineering in support of substation system performance work, as well contracting support staff. The team supports the execution of design, engineering, and commissioning of electric substations in support of growing load demand. Projects supported by the team are system performance projects to include, but is not limited to, circuit breaker replacement, RTU upgrades, transformer replacement, replacement of aging infrastructures etc.. 
The successful Sr Engineering Tech Specialist candidate will perform support contracting efforts and perform Lead Responsible Engineer (Project Engineer) duties providing direction to both internal staff and external consulting engineers and designers (EOCs and SEOCs) in support of a wide range of transmission and substation projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Leads and performs engineering assignments associated with critical engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features require extensive company experience that may include leading employees or contractors in the commissioning of electrical systems and equipment to be placed On System. (45%)
• Performs assignments in areas where engineering precedents are incomplete, lacking or require broad experience. (25%)
• Evaluates, develops and implements projects that have significant financial and operational impact. (10%)
• May serve as an expert for organization in a specific area or responsibility that may include the delivery of classroom instruction/training and/or OJT/OJE. (5%)
• Performs assignments while acting independently, and may lead multi-discipline teams. (5%)
• Provides recommendations and implements action plans to improve performance and cost effectiveness. (5%)
• Participates in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in areas of company interest. (5%)

JOB SCOPE

• Provides technical assistance in support of others.
• Influence decisions that have a significant impact on the company.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Lead and Engage with both Central PMs and regional PMs for decision making and ensuring alignment regarding contracting approach for regional work bundles after assessment completed.
• Invoice approvers for EOC, OE and LRE contracts
• Contract requisition set-up for bundles
• Support regional work plan efforts, including finalization of procedure with an emphasis on contract management
• Support with onboarding new contractors - Once onboarded in Beeline, Sr Business Analyst ensures all applications needed by the contractor are requested and approved and training needs identified.
• Provide contract administration support, which includes Contract requisitions and Invoice management.
• Coordination with Supply Chain and Contract Management organizations
• Serve as the contract administrator point of contact with Exelon suppliers and vendors.
• Maintain T&S Regional Projects Engineering metrics.
• Support of documentation efforts for formalizing the RWP process.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) (1) or equivalent relevant education / experience (See Section Below) (2) AND 4+ years of field experience in engineering, construction, or applicable utility experience. (1) Examples of technical fields (non-engineer) include Engineering Technology, Electronics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, etc. (2) Relevant education / experience is knowledge and skills that may be acquired through job experiences or education programs related to those acquired through a formal technical degree program. Examples include experience gained in a military role applicable to electric power distribution, completion of a journey-level electrician program (e.g., overhead / underground electrician, electrical mechanic), or completion of a company-sponsored technical education program (e.g., Elements of Electrical Engineering (E3) series). The equivalent relevant education / experience is in addition to the position's minimum experience requirements.
• Ability to analyze and interpret electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches.
• Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles and practices.
• Knowledge of complex field test equipment.
• Broad knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installations, or service.
• In lieu of degree, 6+ years of relevant experience
