PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide functional support to the finance and feeder communities as related to all General Ledger, Account Reconciliation and Consolidation processes and tools at Exelon.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide PeopleSoft application support for book close process, allocations, and financial transaction data validation.                            
• Perform configuration management, test, and implement system fixes, updates and enhancements by working closely with Exelon IT, Corporate Accounting and the Finance Community     
• Coordinate changes that impact other financial systems such as budgeting/forecasting, fixed asset accounting, Tax and various feeders                           
• Maintain required documentation to support Sarbanes Oxley controls and audit requests   
• Facilitate process improvement through use of technology
• Respond to help desk tickets, data requests and perform special projects as assigned

POSITION SCOPE

• The position is an application support role, requiring knowledge of accounting and consolidation systems and business processes.  Requires the ability to do impact analysis on system change requests and the ability to analyze and diagnose system issues in an accurate and timely manner. This position interacts directly with accounting and IT personnel, therefore strong communication skills and a customer service orientation are required.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or computer science
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting or accounting systems related position
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and teams concurrently
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure
• Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity
• Solid analytical capabilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and team working capabilities
• Strong aptitude of accounting systems and technology        

Preferred:

• MBA in Finance, Accounting or Systems
• CPA or other financial certification
• Public Accounting experience
• Utility industry experience
• Systems support experience
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft
