PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Lead DPL meter maintenance operational activities for meters across all customer segments including residential, small commercial and large C&I. Meter maintenance operational activities include managing field forces that are both in house or outsourced to improve productivity and safety, prioritizing the work streams and activities to ensure regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and minimize revenue leakage, investigating and resolving customer complaints related to meter maintenance issues such as high bill field investigation. Manage the AMI vendor and field vendor to ensure contract compliance and align priorities. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead DPL meter maintenance operational activities for meters across all customer segments including residential, small commercial and large C&I to ensure regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and minimize revenue leakage (25%)
  • Manage field work force (both in house and outsourced) and back office operations to ensure safety and productivity (25%)
  • Manage AMI vendor and other field vendors to improve vendor management and align vendor activities with DPL priorities (15%)
  • Continuously improve process and systems to drive cross functional efficiency across meter-to-cash (15%)
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues and complaints related to meter maintenance to drive customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance (15%)
  • Complete other managerial assignments and manage process improvement projects as appropriate (5%)


JOB SCOPE

  • Lead DPL meter maintenance operational activities for meters across all customer segments including residential, small commercial and large C&I. Meter maintenance operational activities include managing field forces that are both in house or outsourced to improve productivity and safety, prioritizing the work streams and activities to ensure regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and minimize revenue leakage, investigating and resolving customer complaints related to meter maintenance issues such as high bill field investigation. Manage the AMI vendor and field vendor to ensure contract compliance and align priorities.
  • 'Travel: 20% travel time per year. Work is diversified in nature and requires initiative and judgment in determining prioritization of activities and appropriate course of action. Involves the understanding and application of business practices, guidelines and accounting principles. Decision making authority is primarily related to customer satisfaction and company remittance posting issues. The need to understand to total operating cost, benchmarking information and the ability to apply best practices are critical to achieve results that are world class. Number of personnel supervised includes the following: analysts, supervisors, clerical positions and bargaining unit employees. Total # of direct or indirect reports: up to 100

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineer, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, & 7-10 years in engineering, operations, business management.
  • Experience in a fast paced work environment.
  • Proven track record in managing vendor performance.
  • Excellent Microsoft Access, Excel and Power point skills to deliver presentations to senior executives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills, and attention to detail, initiative and the ability to effectively manage change and successfully complete multiple tasks under constantly changing conditions.
  • In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Experience in managing field force preferred; Bargaining unit management experience preferred.
  • AMI/Smart Grid experience preferred
