PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Supervise or perform equipment installation, inspections, calibrations, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs for the operation of M&R stations and LNG plants. Supervise operations and maintenance of propane - air peaking plants including coaching, appraising, and evaluating bargaining unit personnel performance. Preparing and presenting operations and maintenance training programs for related facilities. Includes standby after hours for responding to gas emergencies at M&R stations and gas plants. Note: position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms and other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform equipment installations, inspections, calibrations, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs for operations of M&R stations and LNG plants.
- Supervise bargaining unit associates when working in M&R stations or plants.
- Maintain, review, and interpret equipment operation and maintenance records and take needed corrective action.
- Purchase materials and equipment needed to perform work assignments.
- Operate M&R stations and LNG plants when needed.
- Respond to equipment failures and emergencies.
- Coach, appraise and evaluate bargaining unit personnel performance.
JOB SCOPE
- Operations: this position both supervises plant associates and performs work for the operation and maintenance activities associated with the metering and regulating stations which supply gas from the interstate pipelines or company owned transmission lines into the gas distribution system and for the gas peaking plants which provide for supplemental gas during periods of heavy demand or curtailed or uneconomic supply from the pipelines. work activities include performing equipment installation, inspections, calibrations, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs for the operation of M&R stations and LNG plants, which includes:
- High-pressure (1,200 psig) natural gas supplies and cryogenic liquids (-260f)
- Regulators, monitors, relief valves and flow control valves.
- Gas scrubbers, heaters, heat exchangers, vaporizers, meters, pumps, compressors, and foggers.
- Pneumatic, electronic, plc-based measurement control systems, analyzers, and chromatographs.
- Supervisory control and data acquisition systems, electronic transducers, fire and gas detection systems, and wide-ranging data communications equipment.
- Planning: this position is responsible for short term maintenance planning activities to ensure that equipment and facilities at the metering and regulating stations and the peaking plants perform correctly and operate as needed.
- Contacts: the position meets state and local public and environmental officials in the areas of LNG, LPA and metering and regulating stations. Interacts with gas department management and regulatory agencies.
- Impact of errors: failure to appropriately perform facility maintenance and operations can result in a catastrophic failure of facilities that could result in loss of gas supply into the distribution system and/or employee or public injury or death, significant financial liability and damage to the company image with the public, regulators and investors.

- No. of plants = 1-2
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree and 4-7 years of experience, OR in lieu of Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 6-9 years of relevant experience.
- Self-motivated, results orientated, analytical, excellent judgement skills.
- Pass first line supervisory test
- Mechanical, control instrumentation and electrical background
- Valid driver's license
- M&R stations, LNG and LPG/A experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Computer skills
- (2) years technical college degree
- 5-10 years M&R stations, LNG and LPG/A experience
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
