PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Exelon is currently seeking highly motivated first year law students for summer internships at Commonwealth Edison Company (“ComEd”), the distribution utility for over 4 million customers in Chicago and northern Illinois. Paid internships will last approximately 10 weeks between June and August. Interns will work on projects designed to help them gain real-world, hands-on experience working independently under an assigned supervisor.
This internship is designed to assist law students in developing a greater understanding of energy law, corporate legal practice, and utility regulation. Prior knowledge of utility law and the utility industry is not required. Over the course of the program, you will interact with clients across the business and learn about the energy industry and ComEd’s role as a regulated utility. Interns can expect to perform broad and varied legal/regulatory assignments that will assist more experienced attorneys in representing ComEd in agency proceedings, relevant litigation, and/or other legal matters.
