ComEd Responsibilities including but not limited to, leading and developing employees, managing the group budget, projects, safety, and emergent issues business planning and setting strategic direction for document management, distribution, control and hierarchy for ComEd. This position manages ~20 employees, and oversees production of the onsite duplicating & document distribution company and associated processes. PECO Functions as first line supervisor for the Document Services team consisting of 5 � 15 bargaining unit, Professional (PSM) employees and/or contract staff. Monitors, ensures adherence to the strategic and tactical direction for document services, document hierarchy and distribution for Energy Delivery. Responsible for planning and facilitation of employee development plans/programs; budget management, project planning and implementation. Daily oversight responsibilities also include; vendor and contract management, executing effective problem analysis and resolution for emergent issues. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


  • Supervise / Provide Leadership � Manage up to 20 employees consisting of Analysts and Clerical staff at PECO or approximately 5 � 15 employees consisting of Analysts, Clerical and Contract staff at PECO. � Establish performance standards, goals and measures. � Evaluate employee performance using Performance Indicators (PIs) and Individual Performance Reviews (IPRs). � Create Teamwork, Lead, Motivate, Counsel, and Train employees. � Accountable for data integrity related to maintaining and tracking documents � Accountable for supporting the updating of equipment records � Ensure employees perform to expectations. � Performance manage employees. � Approve Employee's time � Approve Employee's expenses � Identify and direct the development, improvement and implementation of process changes � May initiate / resolve Root Cause Analyses and ACE investigations to support continuous learning and improvement (40%)
  • Manage Processes � Ensure prompt product turnaround to meet customer service level agreements � Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal customers � Monitors, tracks consistent, accurate entry and maintenance of Passport equipment records in conjunction with changes, updates to electric & gas map work orders and/or engineering drawings. � Monitors, tracks Document Service's process, maintenance of standards and procedures � Functions as a senior consultant to analysts on departmental work load management and work distribution on daily and weekly basis. � Prepares or ensures regular preparation and distribution of key performance indicator reports and required monthly metrics for Document Services. � Develop, control, maintain and improve audit procedures, vendor manuals, maps, drawings and standards � Manage internal accounting operations. (20%)
  • Safety � Ensure all employees are aware and follow all company safety practices and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). � Schedule and execute monthly safety meetings. � Conduct monthly safety walk downs. � Ensure the safety of field personnel by ensuring distribution of mapping products, and controlled documents and procedures in a timely manner. � Communicate safety messages in a timely manner. � Model and promote safety culture. (15%)
  • Strategic/Business Planning � Set strategic direction for document management & hierarchy for EED Asset Mgmt & Ops/C&M � Aid in development of group and department business plans. � Set Goals for individual employees, team and department. � Levelize workload and resources. � Establish unique plans to aid in individual employee development. � Develop and implement cost saving processes. (10%)
  • Emergency Response � Actively participate and support storm restoration activities. � Implement emergency response screener / dispatcher operation. � (ComEd) Ensure all Management employees have an emergency response role. � (PECO) Ensure all employees are trained as screener and/or dispatchers. � Participate in emergency response meetings and drills. � Investigate and resolve all emergent OCC requests as related to mapping distribution. (5%)


Ability to make decisions, manage employees, manage processes, plan, organize and ensure safety is vital to the strategic / corporate business plan. Ensuring distribution of mapping products and controlled procedures as well as performing audits and controlling procedures enables the field and support organizations to perform their work in a safe and efficient manner. The decision-making has a significant impact on all Asset Management, Operations and Construction & Maintenance organizations, such as the Finance, the OCC, Emergency preparedness, the field, Work Management and Design Authority.


  • 5 - 8 years internal utility company experience (e.g., ComEd, PECO), or equivalent external experience
  • 4 or more years internal supervisory experience (e.g., ComEd, PECO, BSC, ExGen), or receive acceptable rating on Supervisory Assessment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of EED processes and issues.
  • Knowledge of Bargaining unit issues
  • Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture.
  • Proven performance management skills
