PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Manage the personnel and activities of the Pepco DC Capacity Planning Department. Duties include but are not limited to preparation of short and long term capacity expansion, reinforcement, and reconfiguration plans for the electric distribution system in the Pepco DC service territory, initiation and shepherding of related capital projects, reliability and budgeting, customer capacity planning strategy, and completion of several tasks of the Summer and Winter Readiness Programs. Provides support to other areas of PHI such as Operation Control Center, Regional Electric & Gas Operations, Transmission & Substation Engineering, Smart Grid & Technology, Real Estate, Investment Strategy, Legal & Regulatory Strategy, Safety & Human Performance, Environmental Health & Safety, External Affairs, etc. Pivotal stakeholder in the development of PHI’s decarbonization strategy focusing on electrification and DER Enablement. Assure the development and effective implementation of various strategic initiatives. Prepare expert testimony as required. Represent the company on industry and regulatory working groups as appropriate. Assure the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes safety, diversity, equity and inclusion, and high productivity. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
