PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Smart Grid Emerging Technology department evaluates new, innovative technologies for the utility grid. These pilot, proof-of-concept, and demonstration projects are deployed in a variety of difference environments including a hardware-in-the-loop lab, a controlled power system laboratory, and the utility grid. Projects can be in support of providing solutions to internal stakeholders or external stakeholders such as national laboratories or federal partners including the Department of Energy. This position will be the technical lead on engineering, testing, commissioning, and deploying these projects. Field experience is preferred. The position reviews financial data from budget and actual costs projects. This position is also responsible for bringing in new ideas to support the mission of providing safer, cleaner, more reliable power for our customers and for our environment.
Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
