PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Overall responsibility for the direct oversight of a team that develops corporate gas long range plans, risk models and prioritizes gas capital distribution reinforcement and replacement work, tracks and adjusts work completion and cost comparisons with work schedule and budget and oversees major construction projects. Develop, execute, and maintain a process to ensure all work packages are properly prepared and appropriately scoped prior to construction issuance. Ensure consistent application of design practices across the distribution system, and coordinate feedback on required design and standards application changes. Assist in the development and effective implementation of strategic initiatives. Assure the focus and attainment of business goals and objectives. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and high productivity. High vis role that interacts with internal executive and senior level leadership as well as peers. In addition to external interactions with DOT and Regulators, regarding gas regulations and safety issues. Decisions of gas engineering affect corporate policy, financial decisions, customer gas reliability and safety.

 

Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Implementation and oversight of DOT and other laws/regulations that impact the Company in these areas. Management of Transmission & Distribution integrity management programs. (10%)
  • Manage the development of the plans, budgets, and strategies to meet the needs of the business in this area (20%)
  • Design of gas distribution & transmission pipelines and pressure systems. (15%)
  • Design and construction of gate stations and transmission pipelines, and Gas Plant engineering support. (15%)
  • Preparation of all company gas standards, procedures, and Gas Share point Website. (10%)
  • Planning and management of long range gas system capacity and infrastructure. (10%)
  • Investigation and implementation of new technologies, gas benchmarking, and Gas quality programs. (10%)
  • Gas Business Planning and corporate gas initiative management, and represents company on various Gas industry organizations , (10%)

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline and a minimum of 10 years experience in a related field.
  • Management skills such as strategic planning, project and budget management
  • Supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting the natural gas industry
  • Knowledge of Utility gas system
  • Knowledge of Utility gas standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of gas engineering principles related to the distribution of natural gas
  • Knowledge of gas industry codes and operating practices


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
