Project Management

ComEd is hiring various Project Managers and Project Cost Analysts with a minimum of 2 years of relevant/utility experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field or relevant work experience. At ComEd, a Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets, team performance and developing strategic plans to implement projects for various organizations. Responsibilities also include managing scope, budget and schedule within approved parameters and providing structured and detailed reports to the appropriate Management team. Tasks may include but are not limited to, ensuring the completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, requirements engineering, design and engineering tasks, vegetation management reviews, project reporting, project financial analysis, major equipment procurement, environmental analysis, obtaining real estate and relationship management with external customers, vendors, townships and regulatory agencies, project quality assurance, and change management.

 

Areas of ComEd Project Management:

 

- The Transmission & Distribution Interconnection Project Management team is focused on the successful interconnection of customer generation projects to ComEd’s transmission and distribution systems. Projects consist of cutting-edge renewables, batteries, and other forms of generation ranging from residential and commercial projects on the distribution system, to grid-scale projects on the transmission system.

 

- Transmission Project and Program Management controls the budget, scope, and schedule for Transmission and Substation projects, that expand, reinforce, and add resiliency to the Transmission system. They also manage the initial service connection for large Commercial and Industrial customers to the high voltage Transmission and Distribution system while providing a premier customer experience, meeting our customer’s schedules while providing clear communications.

 

- The Distribution Projects & Programs portfolio is comprised of five different areas: Grid Optimization, System Cable and Capacity Expansion, Grid Resiliency, Grid Automation and Enhancements, System Communications (Fiber Deployment) and Facility Relocation.

 

- Project Cost Controls team members provide support to Directors, Key managers, and Project Managers in the execution of both Transmission and Distribution projects. Specifically, the team manages and supports projects’ annual budget, actuals, month-end close activities, and forecast. They partner with project managers to develop 5- year long range plans for transmission and distribution projects. They perform various detailed analysis of variances to budget and forecast, as well as risks and opportunities in support of all transmission and distribution projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
