The Manager of Advertising and Communication Insights has a central role in the development of corporate message strategy and is responsible for the development, refinement and execution of advertising and programs that leverage this strategy and enhance ComEd's reputational efforts. The Manager will work directly with external agency partners to mine for customer and stakeholder insights that help shape message and program development.

  • Develop, execute, and report on ComEd Signature STEM program activations and corresponding advertising support (50%)
  • Provide ad hoc advertising support for corporate sponsorships, internal client requests (20%)
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal program leads, business peers, external stakeholders, and multicultural media partners (10%)
  • Lead and manage relationships, scopes, and contracts of external agency partners (10%)
  • Assist with Communication's monthly budget tracking and reporting (10%)

  • Position reports Senior Manager of Brand Strategy.
  • Requires strong writing, editing and project management skills.
  • High level of organizational, strategic thinking, and presentation skills required.
  • Requires occasional local travel and occasional evening and weekend work.


  • Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience in communications (marketing, brand management, advertising).
  • Proven, excellent communications skills, both written and interpersonal.
  • Strong analytical skills; familiarity with consumer-based research and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills; Proven ability to be innovative and creative.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, interface easily with senior business leaders, agency partners and local press.

  • Energy/public utility background or familiarity with political advertising.
  • Experience with multicultural media and marketing.
  • Proficiency in digital/social media strategy and execution.
  • Master's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, or related field.
