PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This job is responsible for analyzing key strategic issues facing the company and supporting technology integration and innovation activities for the future energy delivery system.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support multiple projects to analyze and resolve key strategic issues facing the company as either a team participant and/or individual contributor
- Conduct primary and secondary research on strategic issues and serve as project analyst for strategy initiatives.
- Develop and maintain analytical models in support of technology and innovation initiatives.
- Conduct strategic analysis and synthesize findings on issues that will have a major impact on the company's performance or future operations.
- Support the development of discussion materials for executive audiences related to individual technology and innovation opportunities.
- Support external technology collaborations and innovation project execution throughout the organization.
- Maintain relationships to shape technology co-development opportunities with university, national lab, and emerging technology partners.
- Contribute to the sourcing, scoping, and execution of first-of-a-kind projects that can inform Exelon’s future operations.
- Facilitate and present at employee meetings across the company to encourage proactive engagement on technology and innovation across the organization. Synthesize relevant perspectives across multiple stakeholders and contexts
- Survey external industry news and stay current on energy industry and emerging technology trends/developments of importance to Exelon
Qualifications
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Minimum completion of a 4-yr degree with a relevant major field of study
- Minimum 5 years of industry/related experience or equivalent academic experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and solid written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills - demonstrated financial/quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Ability to translate analysis into key messages and develop story line associated with project analysis
- Ability to frame ambiguous issues and structure appropriate analysis
- Demonstrated ability to apply strategic and critical thinking to problem solving
- Ability to work productively with diverse teams
- Ability to work independently to advance assignments and developing ability to drive efforts to completion
Preferred:
- Master's degree in engineering, science, business, or other related discipline.
- Knowledge of energy industry research & development topics
- Familiarity with power systems engineering and/or regulated utility business models
