PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Management responsibility for the account management, business processes and systems required for Retail Electric Suppliers (RESs), Customer Self Managers (CSMs) and Metering Service Providers (MSPs) to register and succeed in a restructured retail environment in accordance with State legislation and rules and policies as approved by the regulators and the company. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage in support of storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Management responsibility for ensuring inquiries from RESs, CSMs and MSPs are addressed and resolved including questions and issues associated with retail customer metering, billing, enrollments, tariffs and market participant requirements in the PJM wholesale marketplace. (60%)
  • Facilitate proactive communications to RESs, CSMs and MSPs associated with the company's current and future retail choice market structures. (20%)
  • Communicate requirements and implement business processes required for new RESs, CSMs and MSPs to successfully register and participate in retail choice programs. (20%)

JOB SCOPE

The energy, capacity, transmission service and ancillary services purchased and delivered by RESs exceeds $2.5 billion annually. Retail market design issues affect the entire Company business model. Daily processes affect retail customer billing, short-and long-term load and financial forecasts and after-the-fact reporting and settlement throughout the Company. Electric Supplier Services continually works with senior members of Energy Acquisition, Regulatory & External Affairs, Customer Operations and Load Forecasting in performing daily responsibilities and supporting strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5-8 years of business experience or in lieu of Bachelors degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with wholesale marketplace, OATTs and PJM business rules
  • Familiarity with restructured retail marketplace and the company's retail tariffs, billing and enrollments
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business-related field or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Electric utility experience
  • Pursuit or completion of M.B.A.
